Frequently Asked Questions about QR Codes and QRflex
Answers to the most common questions about dynamic QR codes, analytics, pricing and how QRflex works. All in one place.
QR Code Basics
What is a dynamic QR code and how does it differ from a static one?
A static QR code has its content permanently set — it can be a web link, contact card, payment details or a Wi-Fi password. But once created, nothing can be changed. If you need to update the URL, you have to create and print a new code. A dynamic QR code is more flexible. You can change the target link anytime without touching the printed code. Plus, you can see when each scan happened, where from and on what device — so you know exactly how your code performs.
What is a QR code and what is it used for?
A QR code is a square black-and-white pattern that you scan with your phone — and it instantly redirects you to a website, shows a contact, initiates a payment or connects you to Wi-Fi. No typing long addresses, no searching. You will find them everywhere: on business cards, product packaging, menus, flyers or at store checkouts.
How to scan a QR code?
Just open the camera on your phone, point it at the code and wait a moment. The link or action will appear on its own — no special app needed. It works this way on iPhone and most modern Android phones.
Dynamic QR Codes & Analytics
Can I track how many times my QR code was scanned?
Yes, with dynamic QR codes you have an overview of every scan. You can see how many people scanned the code, when, where on the map and whether they used an iPhone, Android or computer. All data updates in real time and can be downloaded for further processing.
Does a QR code still work after changing the target URL?
Yes. The QR code itself does not change — you only change where it leads after scanning. No reprinting, no new codes. Just log into QRflex, update the URL and you are done.
What scan data does QRflex track?
With dynamic QR codes, you can see how many people scanned the code and how the count develops over time. On the map you can see where people scan from, and you also see whether they used an iPhone, Android or computer. All data can be downloaded and processed further, for example in Excel.
Are scan statistics in real time?
Yes. Every scan appears immediately — you see what is happening right now, without waiting for an update.
Creation & Design
Can I add a logo to a QR code?
Yes. You can upload your own image or choose from several ready-made icons directly in QRflex. The logo is automatically placed in the center of the code and the code remains perfectly scannable by any phone.
In what formats can I export a QR code?
You can download the QR code in several formats depending on your needs. For web or online sharing, PNG works great. For print — like banners or posters — SVG or PDF will ensure a sharp result even at large sizes. You can also download a version with a transparent background if you are placing the code on a colored surface.
Can I have QR codes in my company colors?
Yes. In the editor you set colors to match your brand style — and to keep all your codes consistent, you can save the settings and easily reuse them next time.
What types of QR codes does QRflex support?
QRflex supports a wide range of QR code types. Static codes handle web links, email, phone calls, SMS, business cards, Wi-Fi login, payments (Czech QR payment and SEPA) or even WhatsApp messages. Dynamic codes additionally offer links to websites or apps, social media profiles, PDF documents or digital menus — and all come with scan statistics. Technical Questions
Is QRflex free?
Yes, QRflex is currently completely free. Static QR codes have no limitations at all. For dynamic codes, you get 3 codes for free and scan statistics are kept for one month. Paid plans with extended features are still being prepared.
Is QRflex GDPR compliant?
Yes. QRflex is operated by a Czech company, so we process data according to European data protection rules. Scan statistics are anonymous — we do not collect any personal data about people who scan your code.
Do I need technical skills to create a QR code?
Not at all. You can create a QR code in a few steps without any technical or design skills. Most users are done in under a minute.
